WrestleMania 35 is only a month away, and the card is starting to take shape. Brock Lesnar will defend his WWE Universal Championship against Seth Rollins, while the main event is likely to feature Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.

It isn’t difficult to see which direction the other WWE championship pictures are headed, and none of them include the company’s top babyface. Roman Reigns doesn’t have a clear opponent for WWE’s biggest event of 2019 after he missed four months while battling leukemia.

Reigns announced on “Monday Night Raw” a week ago that his leukemia is in remission. He’s set to reunite with The Shield at Fastlane Sunday night. You can bet he’ll be part of WrestleMania now that he’s been cleared for an in-ring return.

Exactly what Reigns will be doing at MetLife Stadium on April 7 remains anybody’s guess.

Even though Reigns relinquished the Universal Championship without actually being beaten for it in October, the former world champion has made it clear he won’t be coming for his belt at WrestleMania. It wouldn’t make sense to thrust him into any other title picture.

Maybe WWE is working to put together a major match that involves Reigns and a top name. John Cena and The Undertaker don’t officially have WrestleMania opponents. Cena could be headed for a United States Championship Match with Samoa Joe. Reigns beat The Undertaker to close out WrestleMania 33.

There’s a chance that Fastlane will ignite a WrestleMania feud for Reigns. He’s going to team up with Rollins and Dean Ambrose in a six-man tag match against Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley.

Lashley and Reigns already had a pay-per-view match just a few months ago at Extreme Rules, and Lashley still probably isn’t done chasing the Intercontinental Championship that he recently lost. A WrestleMania match against McIntyre or Corbin, however, could make sense.

McIntyre was pushed as one of WWE’s top heels in 2018, and it looked like he might not be far from earning a world title shot. He’s a worthy opponent for Reigns in a feud that would have to be put together quickly.

A singles match between Corbin and Reigns would’ve seemed like a long shot just a few months ago. It would make a lot more sense now that Reigns isn’t expected to have a match near the top of the card.

A match between Reigns and Corbin wouldn’t have much buzz, but that doesn’t mean the Shield member won’t play a prominent role at WrestleMania. Some have suggested that Reigns could interfere in the Universal Championship Match. If Reigns helps Rollins beat Lesnar, it could draw the biggest pop of the night.

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that Reigns and Ambrose were headed toward a WrestleMania match against one another before Reigns had to take time off. That possibility seems increasingly unlikely, given Ambrose’s recent face turn.
