Young and the Restless

They have been separated for a short while now, and the attempt to go to therapy to try and save their marriage horrendously backfired. Now, after admitting she can't get past everything that happened, Lily will finally decide to file for divorce from Cane on the Friday, Sept. 29 episode of "The Young and the Restless."

Lily (Christel Khalil) initially stayed with Cane (Daniel Goddard) after learning that he had not only slept with Juliet (Laur Allen), but gotten her pregnant, on the CBS soap. However, after also learning that he had tried to set Billy (Jason Thompson) up with the hockey video and then paid blackmail money to the cameraman who threatened to expose him by taking the cash from their kids' school funds, she had enough and kicked him out.

Since then, Cane has been hopeful he would eventually win Lily back, but she has since admitted that while his taking her back after her affair was something she'll always be grateful for, hers didn't end with a pregnancy, and that has been the most difficult part for her to deal with since she can no longer conceive children. Because of the baby he will have with Juliet, Lily has decided to divorce Cane, and will make the move to start the process by informing Michael (Christian LeBlanc) of her decision.

"I made a decision. I want to file for a divorce," she says in a preview clip.

The news will be hard for Cane when he finally hears it, because he wanted to get his family back. However, he will also realize that there genuinely was no way he could truly convince Lily to give him another chance, because the baby was something that was too hard for her to overcome.

However, another potential way to try and win Lily back could be presented to him when Hilary (Mishael Morgan), goes to him and demands he find a way to work things out, because she knows if Lily becomes single, then she will truly lose any chance she has at reuniting with Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood). While he will be forced to remind Hilary that the baby exists and it's something he can't change, she will remind him that he can try to convince Juliet that staying in Genoa City isn't the right call for her to make.

"I can't just make the baby disappear Hilary," he says in the clip.

"yeah, you're right," she replies. "But you can make Juliet disappear."

However, Juliet may not want to go willingly, especially when she realizes that Cane could truly be back on the market again and available not only as a father for their child, but as her husband. Still convinced she can find a way to make things work for them, Juliet will be more determined than ever to not only stay in Genoa City and have her baby, but to win Cane over as well.

"The Young and the Restless" airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
