Lily and Cane on "Young and the Restless"
Lily (Christel Khalil) reaches a breaking point in her marriage to Cane (Daniel Goddard) on “The Young and the Restless.” CBS

His wife has decided to stick by his side despite now being aware that he had an affair and got another woman pregnant. But now, Cane will risk truly losing Lily as he desperately tries to cover up his other huge secret on the Monday, July 31 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Cane (Daniel Goddard) has been faced with a new threat that can further derail his life on the CBS soap. After being forced to come clean with Lily (Christel Khalil) about his sleeping with Juliet (Laur Allen) while in Tokyo when he learned she was pregnant, he nearly lost her and their family. Though the lies about the affair and the settled sexual harassment case against him later cost him his job with Victoria (Amelia Heinle), he has managed to keep Lily by his side. But now, the threat Jesse (Max Adler) poses to him is looming more than ever.

Jesse is the cameraman from Hollywood who shot the footage of Billy (Jason Thompson) making bets with hockey players that nearly torpedoed the entire deal between the Hockey League and Brash and Sassy. That deal nearly being lost started the whole chain of events which led to Cane’s affair being exposed. But now, Jesse has threatened to go public with the information that Cane was the one who set up the situation with the footage, and blackmailed him into giving him $25,000 to stay quiet.

Now, though that is still a secret, Cane could wind up making Lily suspicious that he is hiding something else from her, after she goes to use their laptop, and he freaks out and orders her to stay away from the computer instead.

“I’m actually going to email it now, before I forget,” she says to their daughter, Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) in a preview clip.

“Don’t touch that!” Cane shouts.

Both the mother and daughter could become curious as to why he suddenly doesn’t want them going near the computer, especially since all Lily was planning to do was send her father, Neil (Kristoff St. John) an email thanking him for giving Mattie an internship at his company. Cane may be able to come up with a convincing answer as to why, but it will still potentially arouse Lily’s suspicions enough.

After the women leave, Cane will complete the transfer of money to Jesse’s bank account, even though it is money Lily will easily be able to see is missing, since he took it from the account they opened to pay for their kids’ school tuitions. And sure enough, Lily may even notice that the account has been virtually depleted later in the day, and she will immediately become aware that the money disappearing is the real reason Cane ordered her not to touch the computer earlier on.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
