He has had some reasons to feel confident again about his future, even with the news that his son has been arrested for sabotaging the family company. However, Nick’s legal troubles won’t be the only thing that starts to rattle Victor on the Wednesday, Sept. 12 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Though he suffered setbacks as a result of Nick (Joshua Morrow) hacking into Newman and impersonating JT (Thad Luckinbill) while building Dark Horse, Victor (Eric Braden) has remained confident that nothing could really hurt the power he still wields in Genoa City. Even Nick’s arrest during the Dark Horse launch party isn’t overly rattling for him, because while he and the rest of the Newman family are furious that Rey (Jordi Villasousa) seemed to use them as he made a move to take Nick into custody on the CBS soap, it’s not a situation that has Victor overly stressed out.

Young and the Restless
Victor (Eric Braden) is rattled by a new development on the Sept. 12, 2018 episode of “The Young and the Restless.” The character is pictured in an earlier episode.  CBS

However, that will all change after an episode of GC Buzz, when Mariah (Camryn Grimes) reveals that Jack (Peter Bergman) is seeking the identity of a man he doesn’t know in an old photograph. The photo is the same one of Dina (Marla Adams) with the various men who could have been Jack’s father, and he is seeking answers about which one holds the key to his past.

Victor is no stranger to Jack’s search for his father, as he knew the truth that he wasn’t John Abbott’s son before Jack himself was even aware. He is aware his enemy was convinced for a while that he may have been a Chancellor, but in the end, he was proven not to be. However, when the photo is shown, Victor will recognize the man in the picture, and after realizing his identity is being sought because he could be Jack’s father, his world will be turned upside down.

As it turns out, Victor will recognize the man as his own father, and in a preview clip for the week’s episodes (see above), he will be worried about Jack finding out because if that man is his father, it means the long-standing foes are actually half-brothers. Victor will be determined to keep Jack from finding out the truth, but there are no guarantees he’ll be able to bury the secret.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
