He previously hit a dead-end when it came to figuring out who his biological father was, learning after a secret DNA test that he was not a Chancellor either. However, as he continues looking into who might have been his father, Jack may learn who he is actually surprisingly related to on the Monday, Sept. 10 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Jack (Peter Bergman) has been trying to learn who his father is ever since he learned the devastating truth that he was not John Abbott’s son on the CBS soap. For a while, he was convinced his father was Phillip Chancellor, after seeing a photo of his mother, Dina (Marla Adams) with him, but after a DNA test revealed they weren’t related, Jack dropped his quest so he could focus on Dina as her Alzheimer’s continues to cause her to deteriorate.

However, he now has renewed the investigation and is eager to learn who his father was. As he continues examining all of the men in Dina’s photo, he will come across a shocking discovery. After showing the photo to Lauren (Tracey Bregman), she will recognize one of the men in the photograph as her own father—and the two will realize there’s a chance they could be half-siblings.

While the two may believe they could be related for a short time though, they will realize it’s not the case. According to a preview clip for the week’s episodes (see above), someone else will recognize a loved one in the photograph, and it would be the last person that Jack would ever want to have a connection to.

In that clip, Victor (Eric Braden) appears to recognize his own father in the photo and is stunned when Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) tells him that it means he and his long-standing enemy could be half-brothers. As a result, he warns her that Jack can never learn the truth, but if he keeps looking into things, the two may be forced to confront a mind-blowing secret about their lives.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
