They’ve been growing closer as their relationship continues, and now, following confirmation that he is not the father of his ex’s baby, Rey and Sharon may decide to make another huge move when it comes to their relationship on the Wednesday, May 22 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Not long after they began dating on the CBS soap, Sharon (Sharon Case) and Rey (Jordi Villasousa) overcame their first hurdle after Sharon learned Mia (Noemi Gonzalez) was pregnant, and after a DNA test proved Arturo (Jason Canela) was the father, Rey’s ex-wife and brother left town. The four also all worked together to try and make sure that Mia didn’t go to jail for the attack on Lola (Sasha Calle) as well. In addition, Sharon and Rey both headed to Vegas to find out what Victor (Eric Braeden) was up to and helped uncover the mystery about Adam (Marc Grossman) being alive.

Now, focused on just committing to one another and their relationship, they may prepare to take the next big step in their romance. However, it won’t go as smoothly as they hope.

“Sharon has a reality check,” spoilers tease.

Most likely, the “reality check” will come from her daughter, Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind), who is often a voice of reason after seeing her mother’s heartbroken so many times, especially by her own father, Nick (Joshua Morrow). She will likely make it difficult at first since she’s naturally wary of her mother’s relationships and how quickly they move, but in the end, the decision will be Sharon and Rey’s to make.

As a result, despite the hiccup that could come, the two will likely decide to take the next step and move in together. However, considering how quickly it came about, it could mean disaster is waiting around the corner for the pair.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
