Actor Zac Efron, who won his first Emmy award Sunday for his Netflix travel show, took to social media to share his excitement with the fans.

The 33-year-old actor tweeted on Sunday evening a candid photo of himself to celebrate his Daytime Emmy Award victory. The actor received the Outstanding Daytime Program Host award for the Netflix series, "Down to Earth with Zac Efron."

"Wow! Never expected this and so grateful," he wrote in the caption. "A HUGE thank you to @DaytimeEmmys @netflix and our small but powerful crew, #downtoearth who made this show what it is. And most of all, thank all of you for watching and enjoying D2E. This is for you."

The series consisted of eight episodes, which were released last year on July 10. In the series, the actor travels around the world along with author Darin Olien to find healthy ways to live at various locations. The adventurous documentary series is expected to release its second season in 2022.

Fans took to the comments section to praise and congratulate the actor on his first win.

One of the fans wrote, "Loved each and every episode! A beautiful candid docu-series about Earth and our relationship with nature. Hope to see more such content in Season 2" while another fan wrote, "Infinity congrats boo boo."

Another user noted how they turned into a fan after watching the series, "Congrats! This is well deserved. Honestly I didn’t like you for the longest time ( totally unjustified -just hated high school musical Rolling on the floor laughing) you have truly found yourself and I’ve loved watching your transformation into a damn good actor and humanitarian."

Efron will be next seen in Anthony Hayes' upcoming movie, "Gold." The movie is currently under post-production and is expected to release next year.

The actor will also work in a horror movie, "Firestarter," which is based on Stephen King's novel with the same title. The movie is helmed by director Keith Thomas. The actor might also feature in Apple Studios’ war drama movie, "The Greatest Beer Run Ever," which is directed by Peter Farrelly.

On the personal front, the actor broke up with his ex-girlfriend Vanessa Valladares in April after dating for ten months.
