The iconic Zlatan Ibrahimovic has finalized a deal with AC Milan as he has agreed to a one-year seven million Euro extension with the club. The rumors of him leaving are put to rest, as he’s ready to continue playing for Stefano Pioli.

"AC Milan is delighted to announce that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has renewed his contract with the club until June 30, 2021," said in the club’s statement by way of ESPN.

The career of Ibrahimovic has been a legendary stretch with several championships and individual accolades the 38-year-old has hauled throughout his playing days. One of his best stints includes an elite display in Paris Saint-Germain where he played in 180 games and scored 156 goals and tallied 60 assists. Before returning for another stay with AC Milan, Ibrahimovic also had 58 appearances in Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Galaxy. It was there where he still dominated the competition as he scored 53 times and put up 15 assists.

"The Swedish champion began his journey with the club in 2010 when he made 85 appearances and scored 56 goals during a stint which also yielded one Scudetto and one Supercoppa. Ibrahimovic returned to Milan in January this year and contributed significantly to AC Milan's return to Europe, netting 11 goals in 20 matches, reaching the 100 appearances milestone with the Rossoneri," the statement continued.

Having someone of Ibrahimovic’s caliber is important for AC Milan as they’re looking to improve in years to come. In the latest Serie A season, they ranked sixth overall with a record of 19 wins, nine draws and 10 losses. This was good enough for 66 points but still was far behind Juventus’ league-leading 83 points.

It will be interesting to see how well Ibrahimovic can maintain his form at this point in his career. The estimated market value of the veteran star is slated at 3.5 million Euros. The five-time top scorer has proven before that he’s one of the best to ever score as a center forward. With the new contract extension, his presence will be a good boost for Milan.
