More spectacular space images from NASA's infrared explorer [PHOTOS]

NASA Saturday released some spectacular never-seen-before space images from its infrared explorer.

The photos were captured by Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, or WISE, launched in 2009 on a mission to scan the entire sky with an infrared telescope picking up the glow of hundreds of millions of objects and producing millions of images.

More than 2.5 million images, including pictures of new discoveries such as more than 33,000 new asteroids floating between Mars and Jupiter, have emerged from its 14-month operation.
