Amazon's Kindle Fire tablet has shown tablet makers the way to beat the iPad is to make sure your device is less than half the price of the tablet king. If the price is no more than $300 and it runs at least a recent version of the Android system, buyers might be inclined to go for it. Kindle Fire sold millions of units during the holiday season, and now it has become a target itself. Tablet makers are scrambling to match the reduced price/feature-rich label the Kindle Fire offers, and the International Comsumer Electronics Show was the place to find them.

Every year, the tech world descends on Las Vegas, NV for the three day show, and many tablets came out of the show with a promise to take on the new seven-inch tablet king. One of them is the long awaited Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, a device announced many months ago and preceded by four other Galaxy Tab sizes. While the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is slightly bigger and likely more expensive, it did debut at CES, and will compete with Kindle Fire because it is a Samsung (ie, a household name). Start the slideshow to see the Kindle Fire's newest competition from CES. Tell us in the comments if you are a tablet connoisseur.
