Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, Samsung's one of the finest smartphones with its astonishingly powerful 1.5 GHz dual core processor, Super AMOLED Plus Screen with jaw-dropping color and Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread operating system, faced immense pressure from Apple's iPhone 4S.

Now that both the smartphones have been in the market for last few months, let's check out how Samsung Skyrocket stacks up against the Apple iPhone 4S.

Size: iPhone 4S comes with a dimension of 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3 mm and weighs 140 grams. On the other hand, Skyrocket will come in dimension of 129.8 x 68.8 x 9.5 mm and weighs 130.5 grams.

Display: While iPhone 4S touts a 3.4-inch LED-backlit IPS TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors and 640 x 960 pixels with 330 ppi pixel density, Skyrocket touts a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display that gives a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels with 207 ppi pixel density.

Operating System: Galaxy S2 Skyrocket runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system with a promise of upgrading to Google Inc.'s latest smartphone OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. iPhone 4S, on the other hand, runs on Apple's latest iOS 5 operating system.

Processor: Apple iPhone 4S features dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 processor with PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU, Apple A5 chipset and 512 MB RAM. On the other hand, Skyrocket features 1.5 GHz Scorpion dual-core processor, Adreno 220 GPU, Adreno 220 GPU and Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon chipset with 1GB RAM.

Camera: Both the Samsung and Apple smartphones sport 8 megapixel rear-facing LED flash cameras with 1080p HD video capture capability. Skyrocket also has an additional 2 megapixel front-facing camera for video calling while iPhone 4S has a VGA camera with 480p video capture capability and video calling over Wi-Fi only.

3G/4G: Skyrocket comes with HSDPA 21 Mbps, HSUPA 5.76 Mbps and supports 4G LTE whereas iPhone 4S gives 14.4 Mbps download speed and 5.8 Mbps upload speed and the Apple smartphone does not support 4G LTE.

WLAN/Bluetooth/USB: Skyrocket has Bluetooth 3.0 version, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, and Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth EDR stereo, mini USB 2.0 version, and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n. On the other hand, iPhone 4S has Bluetooth version 4.0 with A2DP, USB 2.0 version, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Wi-Fi hotspot.

Storage: Skyrocket has a fixed 16 GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. iPhone 4S comes with 16/32/64 GB fixed storage and no microSD card slot.

Battery: Skyrocket comes with a standard Li-ion 1850 mAh battery that gives up to seven hours of talk time and up to 256 hours of standby. iPhone 4S, on the other hand, comes with the standard Li-Po 1432 mAh battery that gives standby time of up to 200 hours in both 2G and 3G and talk time of up to 14 hours in 2G and eight hours in 3G.

Additional Features: Apple has packed some amazing features with its latest iPhone. The features include MicroSIM card support only, Scratch-resistant glass back panel, Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, Siri natural language commands and dictation, iCloud cloud service, Twitter integration, Google Maps, Audio/video player and editor, Image editor, Voice command/dial and TV-out.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket packs some great features like Active noise cancelation with dedicated mic, SNS integration, MP4/DivX/XviD/WMV/H.264/H.263 player, MP3/WAV/eAAC+/AC3/FLAC player, Organizer, Image/video editor, Document editor (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF), Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa integration, Voice memo/dial/commands and Predictive text input (Swype).

Pricing: iPhone 4S AT&T, Verizon and Sprint price ranges between $199.99 and $399.99 whereas Skyrocket is priced at $149.99 with a two-year AT&T contract.
