Tommie Frazier, the former University of Nebraska quarterback who guided the Cornhuskers to two consecutive national championships in 1994 and 1995, was snubbed from entering the College Football Hall of Fame, sending Twitter in a tizzy over the shocking omission.

No Tommie Frazier in the CFB Hall of Fame. Who's marching with me to burn it down?, said CBSSports.com writer Bryan Fischer.

Frazier, 37, a native of Bradenton, Fla., is one of the greatest college football quarterbacks. Injury woes prevented Tommy Frazier from having an NFL career, although Frazier did compete briefly in the Canadian Football League in 1996 with the Montreal Alouttes.

Tommie Frazier became a trending topic Tuesday on Twitter as word spread about his snub from entering the College Football Hall of Fame.

Tommie Frazier gets snubbed? College HOF and Heisman are clearly out of touch with college football #whatajoke, tweeted college football fan @HuskerMut14.

Twitter user Nate Winkler was equally outraged.

It's absolutely absurd that Tommie Frazier isn't in College Football HOF. I'm in my early 30's & he's easily Top 5 NCAA QB in my lifetime, he said.

Among the college football players that did make it into the prestigious Hall of Fame were BYU quarterback Ty Detmer, Syracuse wide receiver Art Monk and UCLA offensive tackle Jonathan Ogden.

Coaches Phil Fulmer (Tennessee), Jimmy Johnson (Oklahoma State and Miami) and R.C. Slocum (Texas A&M) were also voted in.

We are extremely proud to announce the 2012 College Football Hall of Fame Class, said former New Orleans Sainst quarerback Archie Manning, a 1989 College Football Hall of Famer from Ole Miss. Each year the selection process becomes increasingly more difficult, but Gene Corrigan and the Honors Court do an amazing job of selecting a diverse group of the most amazing players and coaches in our sport's rich history. This class is certainly no exception, and we look forward to honoring them and celebrating their achievements throughout the year ahead.

Besides winning consecutive national championships in 1994 and 1995 with Nebraska, Frazier was also the MVP of the 1996 Fiesta Bowl in a game that clinched the championship for the Huskers.

Tommie Frazier isn't in the CFB Hall Of Fame because there is no statute of limitations on murdering 11 men in one night. #Fiesta!, wrote Twitter user @edsbs, referring to the game in which Nebraska routed the Florida Gators 62-24.
