“Assassin’s Creed Origins” is getting its first expansion this January. Ubisoft

The first expansion of “Assassin’s Creed Origins” called ‘The Hidden Ones’ is arriving this month. The DLC will come with a new quest and a couple of changes. Moreover, Ubisoft has announced that two deities are appearing at the Trials of the Gods this January.

Eurogamer has learned that Ubisoft has scheduled the first of the two expansions headed to “Assassin’s Creed Origins” for release this month. The video game publisher hasn’t announced a specific date thus far, but the news outlet believes that it is coming sooner than latter because Trophies for the expansion have already been spotted by some fans.

‘The Hidden Ones’ picks up where Bayek’s story ended in the finale of the main game. According to Ubisoft, Bayek and the Assassins will clash with the Romans who are occupying an all-new region in “Assassin’s Creed Origins.” The company promised a vast story that will cover this arc. The publisher also noted in a blog post that the expansion has a level cap increase from 40 to 45.

Players can also expect some free stuff to come to “Assassin’s Creed Origins” this month. For example, there’s a new quest that would set the scene for and build up the storyline of ‘The Hidden Ones.’ The daily free Hecka chests item pool will also be updated with items from the Nightmare and First Civilization packs and the Gladiator and Wacky packs. There’s also a new option that would allow players to sell outfits at weaver shops.

Ubisoft has also announced that players will soon be able to face two deities at the Trials of the Gods. Anubis is scheduled to show up in the game from Jan. 9 to 16. Meanwhile, players can challenge Sobek starting on Jan. 23 until the 30th.

Finally, the publisher listed in its latest blog post the dates when the new packs will become available:

  • Almighty Pack - Jan. 16
  • For Honor Pack - Jan. 30

The company is also offering Warden’s Oath Outfit on Jan. 30. Players need to use 40 Uplay Units to get this outfit as a Ubisoft Club Reward. Additionally, players can get their hands on the Harlequin and Chop-Chop items as a Ubisoft Club Reward in the Community Creation Contest.
