Blindspot” Season 2, episode 17 recently saw Jane (Jaimie Alexander) and Oliver (Jonathan Patrick Moore) figuring out a way to escape from their captors.

In “Solos,” Jane and Oliver wake up after being injected with tranquilizers in the previous episode. The former did not have any idea where they were, but Oliver said that they are in Vermont. Jane was confused about how Oliver knew where they were so she automatically assumed that he had something to do with Sandstorm.

However, it was later on revealed that Jane and Oliver were being held captive by a group who are targeting the latter. It just so happened that Jane was with Oliver when he was abducted. It was also revealed in the episode that Oliver was held captive because of the crimes of a man named Magnus Steele. The latter is Oliver’s father, and he is already dead.

Jane and Oliver have to give the abductors a huge amount of money so that they would be let go. But Oliver did not have enough cash. He informed Jane that he has around $50 million from a charity, and he’s willing to give it away so they can be freed. But before they could do so, Jane managed to figure out a better plan that involved that FBI. In the end, both characters were freed, but this did not mean that Jane is now problem-free.

Elsewhere in the episode, Reade (Rob Brown) struggled with his demons. Previously, Zapata (Audrey Esparza) told Kurt (Sullivan Stapleton) that Reade’s addiction has resurfaced. Kurt talked to Reade and encouraged him to change his ways and to start by taking a leave of absence. Reade was upset with Kurt so he slammed his badge and quit the team.
