Before Chris Evans was the honorable Captain America, he was the cheeky Human Torch. Now he wants his superhero characters to meet.

Reports of the Walt Disney Company potentially buying parts of 21st Century Fox are circulating again, and Evans took the opportunity to pitch a new superhero movie featuring both of his characters. Captain America, Evans’ more successful superhero persona, is owned by Disney’s Marvel Studios. The Human Torch, a member of the Fantastic Four, is owned by 20th Century Fox.

Evans took to Twitter to joke that he wants a buddy comedy starring both of his characters, something along the lines of “Planes, Trains and Automobiles meets Parent Trap.”

Perhaps Evans wants Michael B. Jordan, who took over the role in the reboot, to play Johnny Storm. After all, it seems like Evans didn’t love his “Fantastic Four” experience. His first superhero movie made him nervous about signing the Captain America contract. The 2005 movie was panned by critics, but it apparently made enough money at the box office that Evans had to go back and make the sequel (which also was a critical disaster).

The sequel obligations in his Captain America contract made Evans nervous. He even turned the role down a couple times before Robert Downey Jr. convinced him to sign on.

“I remember getting on the phone with him and strongly suggesting that he not shrink away from the offer,” Downey told Variety in 2014. “I said, ‘Look man, you might not like the fact that you’ve played one of these guys before [in ‘Fantastic Four’], but you know, the thing is this can afford you all sorts of other freedoms.”

Evans eventually signed a six-movie deal with Marvel rather than the initial nine-movie contract. However, he extended his contract at some point. “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers 4” will mark his eighth and ninth Marvel movies.

Evans isn’t the only superhero actor to react to the news that Disney might buy 21st Century Fox. As previously reported, “Deadpool” actor and producer Ryan Reynolds tweeted when the news first broke.

“If this is true, I wonder how the fudge it would affect Deadpool?” he tweeted.

Many “Deadpool” fans are worried about what Disney’s ownership would mean for the Merc with a Mouth. Disney’s superhero flicks have never been R-rated before. The Disney banner doesn’t release R-rated movies, but they’ve owned studios that have before. They owned Miramax when “Pulp Fiction” and “Kill Bill” were released, and they own Touchstone Pictures, which released “Pretty Woman” and “Con Air.”

Fans will have to wait for the deal to actually go through before they can start asking about changes. According to CNBC, Disney could announce their acquisition of 21st Century Fox as early as next week.

Disney won’t buy all of Fox. The deal is mostly for their movie and television production assets. Fox would keep its news, broadcast and sports networks.
