The “Avengers: Infinity War” trailer was filled with glimpses of our favorite heroes, but there’s one original team member missing: Hawkeye. Jeremy Renner’s archer is nowhere to be found in the video.

It isn’t clear why Hawkeye is missing, but he is definitely in the Marvel movie. Renner even shared a photo from the set of “Avengers 4” Monday.

In addition, the actor appeared in a photo shoot for the movie’s Vanity Fair covers earlier this week, and Clint wasn’t the only member of the Barton family there. Linda Cardellini also appeared. She played Clint’s wife Laura in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” during which she birthed their third child, and it looks like she’ll be around in “Infinity War” too.

The new photos show that Renner has a sort of mohawk in the new movie. He likely changed his look for the same reason Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow is blonde. They’re in hiding because they are wanted fugitives after refusing to sign the Sokovia Accords in “Captain America: Civil War.”

So Hawkeye is definitely in the third “Avengers” flick, but why isn’t he in the trailer? There isn’t a clear answer, but Hawkeye fans are not happy about it.

Renner didn’t seem to have any hard feelings about being left out. He retweeted the trailer and called it “epic.”

He also was not the only one left out. Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) are also missing from the video, but none of them are founding members of the Avengers.

SPOILER ALERT: Plot details and rumors about “Avengers 4” are below.

It’s possible that Hawkeye’s scenes are just too spoiler-filled to show in the trailer. After all, audiences know that he will go through some big changes in this movie. Set photos from “Avengers 4” show him in the Ronin costume, a much darker persona for the archer. It’s rumored that Clint will suffer a great tragedy before making the change.

It sounds like there will be a lot of loss in “Infinity War” and its sequel. For months, filmmakers have hinted that the superheroes won’t all survive, and now even the actors have started hinting that things aren’t going to be the same after this movie.

As previously reported, Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson are the latest actors to hint at heroes leaving the franchise. Hemsworth told Vanity Fair that the photo shoot was “going to be the last time we get to hang out like this,” while Johansson said she had a “bittersweet feeling” about the next generation of heroes.

“Avengers: Infinity War” hits theaters May 4.
