The cute and conceptually-terrifying cult management game "Cult of the Lamb" is due to get a major patch in 2023, and the developers have already released a teaser for what's to come.

"Cult of the Lamb" was met with a very positive reception from both gamers and critics when it was released in 2022. One of its main points of criticism was directed at its combat system, which mainly focused on slashing, dodging and spellcasting. This year, Massive Monster plans to add some more interesting features to that in the form of new weapon moves.

In a recent post on their official Steam page for the game, the developers revealed that they will be adding new attacks to all of the existing weapon archetypes as part of their attempt to sprinkle more depth onto combat and dungeon gameplay.

Once the update comes out, players will be able to press and hold the attack button to launch a heavy attack. This will present more options on how to deal with enemies, and each weapon type has a different heavy attack that's better suited for certain scenarios.

For example, the sword's heavy attack causes the Lamb to perform a strong, downward smash that deals damage over a wide area. It also creates space by knocking targets back a fair distance away. Meanwhile, the axe's heavy attacks come in the form of a boomerang throw that cleaves through enemies in a line.

It'll be up to the players to find which new weapon move best suits their preferences, though not all of them have been revealed just yet. Those that are available can be viewed in the Steam link above.

Combat won't be the only thing that's getting updated. According to Massive Monster, they are also working on making several improvements to "Cult of the Lamb's" broader systems. This includes some quality-of-life changes as well as some features that improve accessibility and difficulty.

The developers also plan to address the community's feedback and some of the fans' most requested features. However, as of writing, a specific release date for this free major update has not yet been provided.
