Former NFL star Deion Sanders has announced that he is divorcing wife, Pilar, after 12 years of marriage. Reports are that this divorce could put Sanders out of millions.

According to TMZ, a clause in the couple's prenup stated that Sanders agreed to buy his wife a home that is worth approximately $10 million.

Sources told TMZ that Pilar has been house hunting since Thanksgiving and that she is looking for a home that cost between $9 million and $12 million.

Sanders confirmed the split from his wife on Saturday with TMZ. They have been married since 1999 and have three children.

Pilar and I have decided to end our marriage and move on to the next phase of our individual lives with mutual respect, Sanders told TMZ in a statement. We are friends and our top priority has and will continue to be the well-being of our children.

Sanders also told TMZ that he and Pilar carefully arrived at the decision so that they can pursue what is best in their personal interests.

Rumors that the Hall of Fame cornerback filed for divorce began surfacing in September. Those rumors claimed that Sanders was divorcing Pilar because he feels she is now too famous.

Pilar appeared in Single Ladies (VH-1), and was also seen in Football Wives.

Enough is enough. I never signed up for all this. Enough is enough., Sanders reportedly said of his wife of 11 years, according to Yahoo! Sports. If I wanted a model or a television star I would have married one a long time ago. All I wanted was a housewife.

But Sanders had addressed those rumors on his Twitter account noting, Ladies and gentlemen I never address IGNORANCE but I must at this point. I've never filed 4 divorce and hadn't made a statement to ANY media.
