KEY POINTS

  • Seraph Codes drop from all of the game's activities
  • Seraphic Umbral Energy is obtained from Seraph Chests in Heist Battlegrounds
  • Heroic Public Events grant the most Seraph Codes per minute

"Destiny 2" Season 19 brought with it a new set of currencies and materials for players to grind for in order to get the latest arsenal offerings in the game. Much like in previous seasons, copious amounts of these resources are needed if players want to collect everything that's been added.

"Season of the Seraph" introduces the aptly-named Seraph Codes to "Destiny 2," which simply functions as a means to gate progression in the new Heist Battlegrounds. At least 500 Seraph Codes are required to open the special chest at the end of the activity, and doing so will drop at least one of the new gear pieces of this season.

Later on, the demand for Seraphic Umbral Energy will increase. These are used to focus Umbral Engrams into specific gear pieces at the Exo Frame aboard the H.E.L.M.

Players will almost always be in short supply of both codes and energy, but this quick guide should help with that.

Fastest way to get Seraph Codes

Playlist modes like Vanguard Ops, Crucible and Gambit all reward players with Seraph Codes, but the fastest way to earn this resource is by farming Heroic Public Events. These give upwards of 240 Seraph Codes per completion, and they usually take just a few minutes to complete.

The caveat is that players must complete the Heroic versions. Normal events give fewer codes per run.

Doing Public Events on Europa and the Moon is highly recommended as these locations coincide with two challenges for this season. Players who have already finished these challenges should go to the EDZ or Cosmodrome instead since the events here are very simple.

Farming Seraphic Umbral Energy

Seraphic Umbral Energy can only be obtained by opening Seraph Chests at the end of a Heist Battlegrounds round. Stockpiling this resource will take much longer considering the time needed to finish a single Battlegrounds run.

Players who want to maximize efficiency will want to run the Legend version of the Battlegrounds activity since it rewards double the Exo Frame reputation. This will make breaking through prestige levels much quicker, ultimately resulting in more rewards in the form of gear and other goodies.
