Frank (Charlie Weber) stole the show during the Season 2 finale of ABC’s “How to Get Away With Murder,” but that doesn’t mean he knows what’s coming next. The star was asked about episode 15, as well as his future on the show, and his answer just may surprise you.

Weber sat down with Entertainment Weekly to discuss "HTGAWM's" cliffhanger ending. He shared with the publication that while the storyline largely centered around his character and his struggle to right his wrongs, he has no idea what Frank did or did not do — especially when it comes to hedge fund manager Charles Mahoney (Adam Arkin). Weber told Entertainment Weekly he is fairly certain that it was Frank who shot Mahoney during his brief encounter with Wes (Alfred Enoch), but there is no way to be sure until the show returns. He said that Frank is certainly not above killing someone to get "back to Annalise."

"In my perfect vision of the show, I believe so. With Frank, he's already thinking about how he can make this OK," Weber said. "With his skill set, that would fall into that category. I have no idea what's going to happen, but I certainly have my vision. And I can see that being something that Frank would do to begin his journey back to Annalise."

Although the exact details of Weber's "HTGAWM" fate remain unclear, he is fairly certain he'll be returning as a regular in Season 3. He told TVLine that it was almost certain that he would be back full-time. Weber also reiterated that showrunner Pete Nowalk is the only person who "knows the truths" about what's to come in Season 3.

Frank — still reeling from the heartache of losing girlfriend Laurel (Karla Souza)— completely unraveled in Season 2, episode 15 after learning from Bonnie (Liza Wiel) that Wes has been made aware that Charles Mahoney is his father. It remained unclear until the end, however, why this news had such an effect on him. Frank and his cohort spent the episode working alongside the Keating Five to locate Annalise (Viola Davis), who they learned may be in some legal trouble. They stressed about the possibility that they could lose their jobs with Annalise — or worse, be killed — over Laurel's drunken confession to the Middleton University professor about Lila Stangard's (Megan West) death.

The team was eventually able to locate Annalise with the help of Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) and his hacking abilities and sent Nate (Billy Brown) to warn her about the warrant for her arrest. Annalise, who has been without a phone for several days, checked her voicemail and heard loads of concerned messages from her mentees — plus one final stern warning from ADA Denver (Benito Martinez). He urged her to get to the police station by 5 p.m. or face having police come to her mother's home to get her. She obliged, but not until she called Nate for one final favor. Annalise arrived at the police station to share with ADA Denver some shocking information she got from Phillip (Jefferson White) — Caleb (Kendrick Sampson) is a killer, and they've got proof.

After her confession, Annalise headed home. Meanwhile, Frank set a plan in motion, disappearing in the hopes of making things right. Laurel combed his apartment for any trace of him with no luck. While she searched high and low, Wes attempted to confront Mahoney about being his father. Their meeting, which takes place on a public street, was cut short when Mahoney was shot in the head.
