Megachurch leader Zachery Tims, 42, was found dead in a New York hotel on Friday and police suspect that drugs may have been involved.

A police source told the New York Daily News that Tims may have died because of a suspected drug overdose. Tims is the founder of the New Destiny Christian Center in Apopka, Fla., near Orlando.

An envelope with a white powder was found in Tims's pocket, the police source told the paper. Police will have the powder tested to determine what it is.

Authorities believe Tims, a former drug addict, was alone when he died because staff at the W Hotel in Times Square had to break through the door's security bar, which can only be put in place from inside the room, the newspaper said.

An autopsy was done on Tims body on Monday, but results were inconclusive.

Grace Brugess, spokeswoman for the New York Medical Examiner's Office, told CNN that more tests will be needed to determine a cause of death and that could take a few weeks.
