Earnings season kicks off next week, with America's biggest aluminum producer, Alcoa Inc. (NYSE: AA), announcing its first-quarter earnings results on April. 8.

Toward the end of next week, financial results from two of the nation's largest banks, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo, will give investors a peek at how the banking industry fared since the start of the year.

That said, KBW analysts believe first-quarter bank earnings “may already be stale even before they are released if the view that short-term interest rates will rise sooner rather than later is sustained.”

At the end of March, 93 of the S&P 500 companies have issued negative earnings per share guidance for the first quarter, while 18 companies have issued positive EPS guidance, according to FactSet.

We ran a screen and produced a list of eight notable companies set to report their earnings between April 7 and April 11.
