Gavin DeGraw was assaulted at 4:30 a.m. Monday morning in New York City's Lower East Side, the New York Post reported. DeGraw's representative said he was taken to the Bellevue Hospital emergency room, where he was put under observation.
He is in stable condition after suffering a broken nose and cuts to his face, New York police spokesman Lieutenant John Grimpel said. It's not clear who DeGraw's attackers were or what their motive was.
DeGraw is currently on tour with Train and Maroon 5. They are scheduled to perform Tuesday night in Saratoga Springs, New York.
The incident was not mentioned on DeGraw's website or Twitter feed, although he did Tweet about a live chat session on Wednesday during which he will answer fan questions.
Let's hope he feels better by then.
