Max and Leroy investigate the disappearance of a girl in the next episode of “Ghosted.”

According to the synopsis for Season 1, episode 8 of the Fox series, a young girl named Janie (Elizabeth Tripp) goes missing at a haunted hayride. To determine whether Janie’s disappearance was a paranormal occurrence or just a publicity stunt, the Bureau Underground tasked Max (Adam Scott) and Leroy (Craig Robinson) to go undercover and find the truth.

As seen in the preview clip for the episode, Max dresses up as Michael J. Fox’s Scott Howard from the 1985 film “Teen Wolf,” while Leroy puts on a mummy costume.

As fans know, this isn’t the first time Max and Leroy have gone undercover. To search for the culprit behind a string of murders in Season 1, episode 3, Max and Leroy disguised themselves as Mitch Bachelor and Tito, respectively. The initial suspect for the killings was a surgeon-turned-photographer named Keith (Seth Morris). So in an attempt to know more about Keith, the two hired him for a made-up bachelor party photo shoot. But when Max and Leroy’s true motive became obvious, Keith wrapped up the photo shoot abruptly.

Max and Leroy’s investigation took an unexpected turn when Keith was found dead. But after visiting Keith’s dark room, Max realized that the real murderer was none other than Natalie (Megalyn Echikunwoke), a succubus who pretended to be a cop.

Max and Leroy also went undercover in Season 1, episode 5, in which Max and Leroy disguised themselves as a caddie and a golfer, respectively, after a bizarre incident took place at an elite country club.

And most recently, the duo went undercover in last week’s Season 1, episode 7. Max posed as a microphone holder, while Leroy disguised as a cameraman on the set of the ghost-hunting show “Ghost Studz,” whose hosts accidentally stumble upon real paranormal activity.

“Ghosted” Season 1, episode 8, titled “Haunted Hayride” — which also sees Barry (Adeel Akhtar) brainstorming ways to “bro-bond” with Max and Leroy — will air on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 8:30 p.m. EST on Fox.
