Apparently Jay-Z thought it would be a good idea to get some of the world's most beautiful women together in New York City to dance and lip sync to his popular song, Empire State of Mind. Why not?

Jay-Z's Life +Times Magazine collaborated with director Justin Wu for the simple but mesmerizing video, which of course was filmed in The Big Apple. He created it in celebration of New York Fashion Week in September.

Other than that, we're not sure what the point of the video is, but not everything has to have a point, right?

And in case you're dying to know where you might have spotted some of the gorgeous lip-syncing ladies before, the New York Observer tracked all of them down and created a slideshow of each model at work.
