“Gravity Rush 2” is not due for release until January of next year, but excited players can already jump into the action-adventure game as early as this week thanks to its demo. The PlayStation 4-exclusive title’s demo is now available for download from the PlayStation Store. Thus, players can have a sneak peek at the high-falling action way before the official release of the game.

On Wednesday, Sony Computer Entertainment America, Inc.’s associate project manager, Nick Accordino, announced via the official PlayStation Blog that the demo version of “Gravity Rush 2” is hitting the platform this Thursday. For players who have yet to download the free demo, it is already live on the PlayStation Store.

Accordino stated that the free demo has two purposes. First, it can serve as an introduction to players who have yet to meet Kat and join her adventures. The other is for returning players who enjoyed the first installment and are now craving for more of Kat’s powers. For this, the developer made two paths in the demo to give fans a remarkable gravity-defying experience.

For interested players, the demo’s file size is 6.2 GB. Around 7 GB available space would already be generous for this file. However, GearNuke reports that players shouldn’t expect the demo to be representative of the final game that’s arriving early next year. After all, the developer only created the demo while halfway through the development of “Gravity Rush 2.”

Aside from the demo, Sony is also whetting the appetite of players by launching the anime series “Gravity Rush Overture” that is expected to bridge the gap between the first installment and the upcoming title. The series is debuting on YouTube this coming Monday, Dec. 26, at 8 a.m. Pacific time.

“Gravity Rush 2” is slated for release on Jan. 18, 2017 for the PS4 only.
