Jurassic Park, a series of famous books, wrote by Michael Crichton, and later adapted to movies by Universal Studios in the 1990s, could be hitting the theaters again soon, according to award-winning Hollywood director Steven Spielberg.

The Jurassic Park trilogy is one of the most successful Hollywood trilogy - made with a budget of $229 million, the trilogy went on to gross $1.9 billion worldwide.

While Spielberg directed Jurassic Park (1993) and The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Joe Johnston directed Jurassic Park III (2001).

As early as June 2002, Hollywood director Steven Spielberg said that Jurassic Park IV would be released soon but script issues and production delay forced the movie to be shelved indefintely.

Last year, Johnston said Jurassic Park IV is is going to be unlike anything you've seen and he hoped that Spielberg would take part in the project.

Earlier this month, Spielberg said discusssions on Jurassic Park 4 is underway and will be a spin off of the history of the first trilogy.

On July 22, Spielberg went on to confirm at the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con that preparations for Jurassic Park 4 is underway. The story is already ready and a script is being written, Spielberg said, adding that it would be released within the next two or three years.

We have a story, we have a writer who is writing the treatment and hopefully we are going to make 'Jurassic Park 4' in all of our foreseeable futures, Spielberg said.

A representative from Universal Studio has confirmed the possibility of the release, saying 2013 is the possible release deadline.

The possibility of the release of Jurassic Park IV is creating a lot of excitement because it has been nearly a decade that Jurassic Park was last released on the screen.

After Spielberg announced his plan, there were a lot of people commenting on Twitter about how excited they were:
