Vera Wang has cast Leighton Meester in the new flirtatious 38-second promotional video for the new perfume 'Lovestruck.'
Meester looks stunning in a gorgeous maroon dress as she stands on the fire escape of an apartment, in none other than NYC, as she waits for her adoring beau.
Meester filmed the commercial in November in New York as the first installment of her two year, $3 million contract.
Wang wrote on the official Verwang website, LOVESTRUCK....the name of my brand new fragrance!.....All about being overwhelmed, inexplicably, hopelessly in love. Allowing yourself to feel passion in spite of yourself, the situation, the repercussions. A new definition of Romeo and Juliet! Sexy, sensual, and unstoppable!
Meester is not the first Gossip Girl to be the face of a designer brand product. Her CW counterpart, Blake Lively became the latest face for Chanel earlier this year.
The girls have taken New York City by storm with their fashion forward show Gossip Girl which airs on the CW Network. Since the show's inception, both girls have seen their fame skyrocket. Lively has been compared to the likes of Jackie O by the Huffington Post, and Meester has launched a music career.
The two fashionistas have demanded a level of respect from the media and industry that few other stars of their generation are able to generate.
Gossip Girl stylist Eric Daman said of Lively during an interview with Hollywood Life, She's not getting out of cars without panties and she'd rather be home making apple pie, not partying in a limo. That's why [editor-in-chief of Vogue] Anna [Wintour] likes her.
Daman added, [Sarah Jessica Parker] was so instrumental about clothing and the draping and body parts and Blake is the same exact way, but she's not Carrie and she's not SJP. Blake is in her 20's and has a hot body, she's a teen icon of high fashion and we haven't really seen something like it, she's like the Jackie O of her time.
According to the Huffington Post, Blake dropped Wintour's name during last year's interview with Marie Claire UK, stating, I was speaking with Anna Wintour and we were just talking about different fashion houses and I said, 'I love Chanel,' and she said, 'You should come with me to the show.' I also said I loved Dior. [Wintour] said 'OK, well I'll take you to the Chanel and Dior shows and we'll meet with Karl and John [Galliano] afterwards.'
