The New York Knicks have not had any discussions over a potential trade for Washington Wizards All-Star guard John Wall as of yet.

It was reported earlier this week by Marc Berman of the New York Post that should Wall be available to be traded, the Knicks were planning to make a move for the 28-year-old by "stocking up" their young assets for a potential three-team trade.

"It would have to be a three-team deal with the Knicks throwing in Ntilikina, Dotson, Courtney Lee (for cap purposes), a 2020 first-round and second-round pick," Berman wrote.

However, according to ESPN's Ian Begley, there have been no 'internal discussions" about a potential Wall trade.

Begley did add, however, that Damyean Dotson, mentioned as one of the players who could be traded for Wall by Berman, has been attracting interest but the likes of the Brooklyn Nets or the Detroit Pistons haven't reached out to New York yet.

As reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski last month, Wall, who is averaging 21.3 points and 8.4 assists over 24 games this season, was made open to trade discussions by the Wizards due to the team's struggles at the time. But that doesn't necessarily mean they're open to trading him.

If he is to be traded, it would have to be for the right offer, though his contract complicates things. Currently earning $19.1 million this season, Wall will have a four-year supermax extension kick in from next season, earning him an average of $42 million annually which is a lot of money for a player some feel doesn't merit such a contract.

There's also the 15 percent trade kicker in the North Carolina native's contract which means Washington would have to pay him a lump sum of money if he is traded this season, compared to next season when his supermax extension kicks in and the payout is much less, even potentially zero.

When it comes to the Knicks, a trade could still be possible, but as it stands, nothing has moved forward.

A trade, though, would be very surprising nonetheless, especially given New York's reported pursuit of potential free agent Kevin Durant next year and the fact that they would not have the cap space to sign the Golden State Warriors star to a max contract if that were the case.

Meanwhile, Wall has also reportedly attracted the interest of the Los Angeles Lakers, with agent talk confirming that the 16-time champions are offering the likes of Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope for the point guard.

However, these are all reports and it's entirely possible that Wall ends up staying as well given the team's recent form. Since it was reported about their struggles last month, the Wizards have won five of their last seven games and currently ninth in the Eastern Conference with an 11-14 record.

They will be looking to make it four wins in a row when they take on the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday.
