Although the Mikaelson family, including Klaus, have had their fair share of heartbreaks and murdered lovers, love is heading to New Orleans on The CW’s “The Originals.” Season 4 is going to feature a romance. Unfortunately, this new lover isn’t romancing a Mikaelson family member.

Vampire Joshua “Josh” Rosza (Steven Krueger) is going to get a new human boyfriend named Eddie on the supernatural series. “Teen Wolf” alum Keahu Kahuanui, who played Danny on the MTV series, will play Eddie’s role, TVLine reports. Kahuanui is used to working with werewolves and the supernatural genre on TV, so this is going to be a perfect fit for the actor. Incidentally, he also portrayed a homosexual human on “Teen Wolf.”

Eddie is aware of the supernatural world around him, but he has no desire to be anything other than a simple human. He is described as sweet, charming, funny and sexy boy who has a vast knowledge of random facts. Kahuanui’s character debuts in Season 4, episode 2.

Kahuanui isn’t the only new addition to the cast of “The Originals.” The CW series has added “Containment” actress Christina Moses as a bisexual werewolf named Keelin, according to TVLine. She comes from a long line of werewolves and her blood may be the key to a potential cure for Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic). The two brothers were bitten by Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) in the Season 3 finale after he became an invincible vampire-werewolf hybrid.

The Season 4 cast also includes “Sleepy Hollow” actor Neil Jackson, another TVLine article cited. He will portray the role of a vampire named Alistair who will interact with Klaus (Joseph Morgan) at some point in Season 4.

The Season 3 finale ended with Marcel striking Klaus with Papa Tunde’s knife. Freya was poisoned by Marcel, who is now the new leader of New Orleans. Therefore, the witch transported herself, Elijah and Kol into a dream world.

Season 4 will feature a five-year time jump.

“The Originals” Season 4 airs during mid-season, in early 2017.
