Fenty Beauty creator Rihanna channeled her inner queen for her shoot with Vogue Arabia.

While the 29-year-old singer is arguably known for her daring street style, Rihanna took inspiration from one of Egypt's most beloved icons — Queen Nefertiti — for her shoot with photographer Greg Kadel.

Wearing a Gucci snake-skin jacket paired with bold blue eyeshadow and Nefertiti's iconic headdress, Rihanna shined bright like a diamond for the November issue.

Rihanna was first featured on a Vogue cover in 2011 for Vogue U.K.'s November issue and since been on covers for Vogue U.S. and Brazil. Her Vogue Arabia cover will be on stands Nov. 1, and the singer's eighth cover for the fashion magazine.

Nefertiti, which translates to "a beautiful woman has come," was a source of inspiration not only for Rihanna, but for other notable fashion brands and within mainstream media.

An article published by Vogue Arabia Oct. 17 listed five different moments Queen Nefertiti has remained a beauty icon, though her reign ended over 3,000 years ago.

Seen within Dior Couture, Christian Louboutin makeup advertisements and music videos for Beyoncé and Michael Jackson, Queen Nefertiti is one of "the most copied works of ancient Egyptian art."

Queen Nefertiti reigned from 1353 to 1336 B.C. and was regarded as one of the most powerful woman in Egyptian history. Seen as equal to her husband Pharaoh Akhenaten, the duo ruled in ways that were not usually seen in ancient Egyptian culture.

Nefertiti disappeared from Egyptian records after her 12th reign year for reasons that remain unknown. Some historians say she died, while others say she assumed a higher role in Egyptian power and thus began dressing like a man.
