Sprint will release its Samsung Galaxy Note 3 model on Oct. 4 Sprint

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 now has a confirmed release date on Sprint, as the network has announced that it will sell the Galaxy Note 3 starting Oct. 4 through all sales channels including stores, business sales, Web sales and telesales.

There remains no pre-order available or the Galaxy Note 3; however, its splash page has been updated to allow customers to pre-register for more information.

Previously, a Sprint retail representative told IBTimes that the handset would be available on the network starting Oct. 2; however, that was clearly off by just two days. We consider that may be the date Sprint will receive its Galaxy Note 3 supply in preparation for its Oct. 4 release. With no pre-orders available, there may not be any chance for Note 3 handsets to ship to customers early.

On Sprint, we see a notable jump in price; the Now network will sell the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for $349.99 with a two-year contract, while many other carriers have stuck with the $299.99 on-contract price usually seen for Galaxy Note devices.

Sprint also took a while to announce detailed information on its Galaxy Note 3 model compared to other carriers, for which there appears to be no explanation, especially since we now know it will release in the same time frame as the Note 3 on other carriers.

Currently, AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon have all begun accepting pre-orders for their Galaxy Note 3 models. The Note 3 will release on AT&T Oct. 1, on T-Mobile Oct. 2 and on Verizon Oct. 10. U.S. Cellular now remains the only major U.S. carrier that has not announced detailed information for its Galaxy Note 3 release; however, the Midwest regional network says customers will see the Galaxy Note 3 in October.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 features a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, a 2.3GHz quad-core LTE processor for the U.S. market, 32GB and 64GB internal storage options with microSD expansion up to 64GB and 3GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera and a 1.9-megapixel front camera with 1080p/60 video recording and 4K video recording for some models. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 also runs the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system and a 3,200mAh battery and features boosted 24-bit and 192 KHz audio.

Software features for the Note 3 include Samsung Knox preloaded and able to work for both personal and business capacities. The Note 3 also focuses on improved multitasking with the Air command feature, which directs users to the Action Memo, Screen Write, S-Finder, Scrapbook and Pen Window applications. With an enhanced S-Pen, users can easily navigate their Galaxy Note 3 handset with simple dot, circle and box motions.
