The Samsung Galaxy S8 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage will cost 1,155,000 (about $1,032) with a carrier contract in Korean won, according to Samsung. Customers will also be able to purchase the smartphone off contract for 1,270,000 Korean won (about $1,135).

In addition to Samsung, Korean carriers KT, LG U+ and SKT will begin offering the Galaxy S8 premium model for pre-order April 17. Pre-ordered Galaxy S8 models will come with a free Samsung DeX station. The premium Galaxy S8 will be available only in Midnight Black.

Prior reports speculated that a Galaxy S8 price exceeding $1000 could signal a change in the mobile industry. Still, Samsung and most carriers will offer the Galaxy S8 for around $750 when it releases April 21. The Galaxy S8 Plus will sell for around $850. However, Amazon is selling both devices in the $1000+ range, for unlocked models.

The standard Galaxy S8 features 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Both models include microSD expansion up to 256GB. Reports indicate the 6GB RAM Galaxy S8 will also be available in China.

In addition to RAM and storage specs, the Galaxy S8 features a 5.8-inch Quad HD dual-edge curved display and a 6.2-inch display for the Galaxy S8 Plus. The devices feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 chip, a 12-megapixel rear camera, and 8-megapixel front camera, with f/1.7 aperture, USB-C, IP68 water, wind and dust resistance and Android 7.0 Nougat. The Galaxy S8 includes a 3,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S8 Plus includes a 3,500mAh battery.
