Choose your side: Rebel Alliance or the Galactic Empire. In “Star Wars Battlefront,” Electronic Arts places players in the middle of the action of the “Star Wars” universe.

At EA’s press conference in Los Angeles, Stockholm-based DICE showcased the first multiplayer footage of “Star Wars Battlefront,” a first person multiplayer shooter and action game set in the sci-fi "Star Wars" films. The game itself has maps strewn across several settings from the films such as Tatooine and Endor. But the first actual gameplay footage for “Star Wars Battlefront” comes from Walker Assault mode, which lets players fight it out in a battle centered around giant AT-AT walkers assaulting the Rebel base on Hoth, the same wintry planet where the opening scenes of “The Empire Strikes Back" take place.

Players will be able to take on several roles in the game, whether it’s a Stormtrooper, Rebel Fighter or even a Tie Fighter pilot. And to turn the tide of battle, players will also be able to take control of iconic hero units, such as Boba Fett, Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.

Though many of the battles are designed for multiplayer gameplay, “Star Wars Battlefront” will also come with single player missions, split-screen co-op missions, and offline bot matches, which replaces human players with AI-driven units.

“Star Wars Battlefront” is slated to launch November 17, for Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One and PC via EA’s Origin digital game store. Watch the first multiplayer gameplay footage in the video above.
