Something even stranger is coming to Hawkins, Indiana, when Season 2 of Netflix’s hit, horror-drama “Stranger Things” drops on Friday.

What could be worse than the Demogorgon? Let’s break down what we know about the new season so far.

1. The Official Season 2 Synopsis Promises Something Sinister.

“It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana, are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.”

2. Will Is Having Frightening, Real (?) Nightmares.

Ever since he was saved from the Upside Down, Will (Noah Schnapp) has been different. While viewers never got to learn too much about him in the first place, we know he wasn’t always coughing up strange substances or looking seemingly possessed sometimes, though now he is. Along with the weird, once-in-a-while physical changes, he’s also experiencing nightmares that seem to be showing him what’s coming to Hawkins. Nothing good.

3. It’s Halloween In Hawkins, Which Brings More Mystery And Mishaps.

Characters are dressed up in costumes, houses are decorated and evil is afoot. Something still isn’t right in Hawkins, but this time, it’s a bit different. The citizens of the town learn that the hard way when the day before Halloween, all of the pumpkin crops have been destroyed. It doesn’t look like it was by the hands of a human, but from the evil of a monster.

If that’s just what happens on the day before Halloween, what sort of horrors are to come on the day of actual holiday? Is that when all of Will’s nightmares will come true?

4. Eleven Escapes From The World Of The Upside Down.

Between a Season 2 clip and the new trailer, we learn that the Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) finds a small hole back to the real world and uses her powers to break it wide open, large enough for her to fit through. Once she’s back in town, she finds the waffles that Chief Hopper (David Harbour) left for her. Her next stop? Reuniting with her friends.

5. There Are New Characters, As Well As Reunions Between Old Ones.

With Eleven back in town, she’ll likely be reuniting with her group of friends, including bestie and something more, Mike (Finn Wolfhard). While that reunion is bound to happen, fans will also see Nancy (Natalia Dyer), who chose Steve (Joe Keery) at the end of Season 1, spend some time again with Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), when they realize there’s more danger for them to help take care of.

As for the new characters in town, Max (Sadie Sink) and Billy (Dacre Montgomery), apparently they’re there to help in any way they can when the usual crew of characters realize that they need more help to defeat the new, bigger evil.

6. The Titles Of The First Six Episodes Tease What’s To Come.

There will be nine episodes in Season 2, but the only the titles of the first six have been announced. “MADMAX,” “Trick or Treat, Freak,” “The Pollywog,” “Will the Wise,” “Dig Dug,” and “The Spy,” in that order, make up the first few episodes of the new season. As for the rest of the titles? Luckily, Friday isn’t too far away.
