“Supergirl” star Melissa Benoist got her first ever surfboard trophy at Sunday’s 2017 Teen Choice Awards.

Right after introducing Snapchat’s The Dancing Hotdog, Benoist — who appeared onstage with “The Flash” star Grant Gustin — was announced as the winner of this year’s choice action TV actress category, beating out her fellow nominees Jordana Brewster (“Lethal Weapon”), Caity Lotz (“Legends of Tomorrow”), Danielle Panabaker (“The Flash”), Candice Patton (“The Flash”) and Emily Bett Rickards (“Arrow”).

“You guys, thank you so much!” a surprised Benoist said as she accepted her surfboard trophy. “This is my first Teen Choice Award.”

The 28-year-old actress went on to say how happy she is to play Supergirl and inspire viewers in the process. “I’m so glad that I get to put on a cape and fight like a girl every day,” the “Glee” alum said. “I hope that every girl in this audience knows that you are as strong as you think you can be.”

While this is Benoist’s first Teen Choice Award win, the actress actually scored her first Teen Choice Award nomination back in 2013. That year, Benoist was nominated for choice TV breakout star for her performance as Marley Rose on “Glee.”

Aside from her choice action TV actress nomination this year, Benoist and his “Supergirl” co-star Chris Wood — who happens to be her boyfriend in real life — were also nominated for choice liplock and choice TV ship categories. The liplock title, however, was won by “Beauty and the Beast” Dan Stevens and Emma Watson, while the ship award went to “Riverdale” stars Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse.

Wood was also nominated for choice action TV actor for his performance as Mon-El on “Supergirl,” but the category was won by “The Flash” star Grant Gustin. In addition, Benoist and Wood’s “Supergirl” co-star Teri Hatcher was nominated for choice TV villain, but lost to “Pretty Little Liars” star Janel Parrish.

Benoist’s choice action TV actress win is the second award she has received for her performance as Supergirl this year. In June, Benoist won best actress in a Television Series at the 43rd Saturn Awards.

“Supergirl” Season 3 premieres on Monday, Oct. 9, at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
