Leah Messer Teen Mom 2
"Teen Mom 2" Season 7 is reportedly already in the works. Will Leah Messer return? MTV/Viacom

The “Teen Mom 2” Season 6 finale premieres Thursday night on MTV, but it won’t be the last time viewers get to see the young moms grace their TV screens. According to a report, the network has plans to film a seventh season of the hit docuseries.

“Teen Mom 2” Season 7 is officially a go, reports the Ashley's Reality Roundup. According to the site, the cast and crew of the hit MTV show recently received word that the show is being renewed. From Jenelle Evans and Nathan Griffith's Season 6 altercations, to Leah Messer’s alleged drug use and rehab visit, Kailyn Lowry’s marital issues and Chelsea Houska’s custody battle, MTV is reportedly "eager to keep that momentum going."

And while another installment of “Teen Mom 2” is reportedly coming our way, it is unknown if each of the four original girls will return. The new episodes are expected to begin filming in two weeks time and according to the Ashley, there is no confirmation “that all four girls have signed on.”

Each of the girls aired out some significant dirty laundry several times throughout Season 6, so they do have reason not to return to the show. However, it's Leah's return that is the most questionable based on her track record. The 23-year-old mom of three famously announced her decision to quit the series ahead of Season 6 in November 2014, suggesting to her social media followers that she felt quitting was the best option for her children; Ali and Aleeah, 5, and Adalynn, 2. She eventually signed onto the show only to recently bash the series online, calling it "scripted." Will she pull a similar move again before filming commences for Season 7?

While there’s no word on Leah’s plans, rumors have been circulating for months that her ex-husbands are planning to quit the show. Leah divorced Jeremy Calvert in June, so it wouldn’t exactly be a surprise if he decided to bow out of the show. After six seasons of starring on the series, her first ex-husband, Corey Simms, is also said to be considering leaving. "Corey is done with the show,” a source told Life & Style in July, adding that the father of two doesn't think his paycheck from the show "is worth the aggravation anymore." An insider said Jeremy also wanted to leave the show but had yet to make "any formal moves."

While fans wait for the official word from MTV about “Teen Mom 2” Season 7, and the possible return of Kailyn, Leah, Chelsea and Jenelle, they can tune in to the Season 6 finale. Episode 12, titled “Face Off,” airs Thursday at 10 p.m. EDT. Ahead of the premiere, MTV has released four sneak-peek clips. Watch them below:
