Tropical Storm Emily may be poorly organized but it continues to make its way slowly through the Caribbean with tropical storm warning still in effect for Puerto Rico, Guadeloupe and the Dominican Republic.

Tropical storm watch remains in effect for U.S Virgin Islands and Haiti.

Emily is now located about 265 miles southeast of San Juan, Puerto Rico, bringing maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour as it moves westward at 14 miles per hour, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

The center said some slow strengthening may be possible over the next day or so before Emily interacts with land.

Emily is expected to 2 to 4 inches of rainfall in the northern Windward Islands and Leeward Islands, with a total of 4 to 6 inches of rainfall expected in Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic. An isolated maximum of 10 inches of rainfall is possible, according to the National Hurricane Center.
