Grab your crossbow and stock up on some acorn/ beet cookies. “The Walking Dead” Season 6 finale airs on AMC Sunday night, and fans may be gearing up for a “Game of Thrones” style cliffhanger.

It’s a known fact that episode 16 of the hit zombie series will be introducing Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), the comic book villain from Robert Kirkman’s graphic novels. However, viewers are being kept in the dark about whose life the big bad leader of the Saviors will take. But heading into the finale tonight is another issue that has to be resolved — the fate of Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus).

Episode 15 ended with Daryl and Rosita (Christian Serratos) sneaking up on the Saviors camp to free Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Michonne (Danai Gurira). However, their plan backfired. Dwight (Austin Amelio) managed to come up behind them, and a gun pointed at Daryl’s head appeared to go off.

“You’ll be alright,” Dwight said as blood splattered the camera.

Dwight’s last words hint that the gun didn’t kill Daryl. But the issue now is whether “Walking Dead” fans will learn what happened to him before the end of the Season 6 finale. If the series doesn’t show what happened to Daryl, viewers could be dealing with a “Game of Thrones” Jon Snow (Kit Harington) situation all over again.

The HBO series concluded its fifth season last June with a revolt at Castle Black. The men in the Night’s Watch decided that Jon Snow was not fit to be the Lord Commander after helping the Wildlings, and each took turns stabbing him. The final moments of the Season 5 finale showed Jon Snow lying in a pool of blood on the snow.

Jon Snow’s fate has become a hot topic ever since the episode aired. Fans have been debating if he’s alive or dead for over 9 months, and although author George R.R. Martin and cast members have discussed Jon Snow, the answer regarding his fate will not be revealed until “Game of Thrones” Season 6 premieres on April 24.

Could “The Walking Dead” do the same to fans? That’s what leaked details from the finale hint. Alleged plotlines from episode 16 surfaced late last month and Daryl is not mentioned them. To top it off, audio that leaked last week teases that Negan will use Lucille, his beloved bat covered in barbed wire, to off one of Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) group. However, reports state that the camera doesn’t show which survivor he chooses.
