A shocking footage shared by an African-American activist and teacher from New Jersey on Nov. 18 allegedly reveals some U.S. Marine Corps uttering racial slurs in drunk videos. The Snapchat videos were shared by Zellie Imani on Twitter, posing a question to the U.S. Marine Corps. He captioned the video saying, “Marines drinking and randomly yelling ‘f--- n------’ on Snapchat. Is this commonplace @USMC?”

As soon as the video was shared by Imani, it drew attention to the social media platform, with people posing questions about the alleged behavior by the U.S. Marines.

Although it is not clear where it was shot, the video was first posted on Snapchat by a woman named Cheyenne Haynes, who is believed to reside in California, The Daily Mail reported.

According to a report in Marine Corps Times, corps officials confirmed on Tuesday that an investigation is underway into the Snapchat videos.

III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF) confirmed in a statement that some of the individuals in the video are in fact, U.S. Marines. "We can confirm some of the individuals portrayed in the videos are U.S. Marines. The actions depicted in the videos are not in keeping with the high standard of conduct to which we hold all our Marines. We will thoroughly investigate the matter and take appropriate action based on the results of the investigation," the statement read.

However, III MEF has not yet specified as to how many people in the video were U.S. Marines and what kind of disciplinary action would be taken against them.
