Your next trip to a Disney park is about to get that much more magical. In 2019, the two U.S. theme parks are planning to open several different rides and attractions, and we have all the information on opening dates and more before we kick off the new year. Here is what's coming to Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida in 2019 and beyond.

Star Wars Lands And Hotel

“Star Wars” fans will get the addition of the film franchise into not one, but two U.S. Disney parks. In California’s Disneyland Park, guests will be treated to the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in summer 2019. The new land will include two attractions, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Ride of the Resistance.

Walt Disney World guests in Orlando will be able to experience the land a little later in the year. Disney’s Hollywood Studio’s version of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens in fall 2019 and features the same two attractions. Orlando will also be home to a “Star Wars” themed hotel, though there is no opening date available just yet.

The hotel property is being developed on the south side of Disney’s Hollywood Studios and is advertised by Disney Parks Blog as being “seamlessly connected to the highly-anticipated Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, enabling guests to fully immerse themselves in the story of Star Wars.”

Hollywood Studios Attractions

Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando is getting several new attractions next year. A “Cars”-themed attraction is due to open in “early” 2019. The show will be titled Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy and will “will demonstrate racing techniques on a new simulator and share career highlights with his guests,” according to Orlando Sentinel.

Also coming in 2019 is the revamp of Hollywood Studio’s former Great Movie Ride building. The space will next play host to Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, a 2 1/2-D ride that features a “catchy theme song.” The ride will follow Mickey Mouse and friends for a “wacky, wild ride.” While an opening date has yet to be confirmed, rumors suggest it may premiere in May, just in time for the park’s 30th anniversary.

Pixar Pier Revamp Continues

Following the opening of Incredicoaster at Disney’s California Adventure’s Pixar Pier, the West Coast park will continue to offer updates in 2019. Guests can expect to enjoy a re-theming of King Triton’s Carousel to make room for Jessie’s Critter Carousel. An “Inside Out” outdoor ride is also expected to make its debut in 2019 at Pixar Pier.

Transportation

Walt Disney World is offering up a new way to travel in 2019. The Disney Skyliner will allow guests to travel between certain resorts and Epcot and Hollywood Studios via the sky in its new gondola system.

Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland is about to get a little more futuristic. One of Shanghai Disneyland’s most popular rides is making its ways to Orlando. A “Tron”-themed coaster is due to open by 2021.

Just in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World, Epcot’s Future World will open a “Guardians of the Galaxy”-themed roller coaster. In 2021, guests will be able to enjoy the “one-of-a-kind family attraction” that “will be one of the world’s longest enclosed roller coasters.” While it will be some time before it’s opening day, the ride track started to be laid out inside the attraction late last month, reports WDW News Today.

Future World will also house a new space-themed restaurant in the coming years.

It’s not just Future World that is getting new entertainment, though. Epcot’s World Showcase France pavilion will be opening a “Ratatouille” attraction, titled Ratatouille: The Adventure. The 4-D ride is rumored to be opening in May 2020.

Marvel In Disneyland

In Anaheim, guests at Disney’s California Adventure will get to experience a superhero-themed land starting in 2020. Spider-Man and the Avengers are advertised as joining a part of the park already houses a “Guardians of the Galaxy” thrill ride.
