When it was announced that “Will & Grace” is getting another chance at NBC after bidding farewell in 2006, several guest stars were confirmed to be coming back for the reboot, including Bobby Cannavale. This week, the two-time Tony nominee is finally reprising his role as New York police officer Vince D’Angelo, and actor Eric McCormack couldn’t be any happier.

The actor who is breathing life to titular character Will Truman just took to Twitter to express his excitement over his reunion with his former on-screen love interest in the comedy series. McCormack retweeted a fan’s post featuring several photos of him and Cannavale taken a few years back. He then captioned it: “Never seen these shots! But yeah: the ubiquitous @bobbycannavale is BACK tomorrow night @WillAndGrace and we couldn’t be happier!”

When Cannavale spotted McCormack’s tweet, he also shared it to his own Twitter page and reminded his friend when the photos were taken: “This is when I came to see you in the Labute play! Damn, we’re young here. See you tomorrow night at 9 buddy!”

Cannavale’s police character in the series is special to McCormack’s lawyer character, since the they dated for a long time in the past. In fact, Vince and Will’s romance lasted for two seasons and made a mark as the latter’s longest relationship since Chris Potter’s Michael. The two even had a second chance at love in the latter part of the show’s first run. However, Will ended up choosing Grace over Vince.

Cannavale’s appearance in the reboot was first announced last September. Debra Messing, who plays Grace Adler, was the one who broke the news when she took to Instagram to upload a selfie she took with Cannavale. “It just gets better and better. ANOTHER fan fav from our little show of yesteryear … is in the house,” she captioned her post.

This week on “Will & Grace” Season 9, episode 10, Cannavale’s Vince returns, but he is getting married to someone else. He invites Will, Grace, Karen Walker (Megan Mullally) and Jack McFarland (Sean Hayes) to his wedding, and things are going to get a bit exciting. Based on the synopsis for the episode, titled “The Wedding,” Grace will do her best to stop Will from making a scene at his ex’s wedding.

Meanwhile, Jack will try to hook-up with someone by introducing himself to the law enforcement guests at the reception. Of course, he has his own way of finding a prospective partner as seen in the promo clip. “What’s your favorite TV show?” Jack enthusiastically asks some of Vince’s colleagues in the preview. When all except one answered “The Wire.” He got his sights at the odd man out who responded to his query with “This Is Us.”

“Will & Grace” Season 9, episode 10 airs Thursday, Jan. 18, at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
