Two people were killed and one person was injured Tuesday in Sweden after a concertgoer fell seven floors into a crowd at an ABBA Tribute Concert.

A police spokesman told CNN that the 80-year-old man fell 30 minutes before the concert was set to start at 7:30 p.m. local time. He landed on a man and a woman in their 60s. The names of the three victims have not been identified.

About 1,000 people had gathered for the concert at the Uppsala Konsert and Kongress in Uppsala city, about 45 miles north of the capital, Stockholm.

"We received a call about someone having either jumped or fallen from a high altitude," police spokesman Magnus Jansson Klarin told Agence France-Presse.

The police added that the two men died and the woman was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Swedish police are now investigating what exactly happened.

The events company that organized the show, MTLive, wrote on Facebook that Tuesday's concert was canceled on short notice, adding that "everyone is in shock."

"Unfortunately, we have to announce that a terrible event has happened. What we know is that someone jumped [or] fell high in the arena and hit other people," the company said. "Right now we don't know much more."

ABBA, a Swedish pop group that grew in fame in the 1970s, is preparing to release their new album "Voyage" on Friday. The group expressed their grievances on Twitter.

"In light of the tragic news at the tribute concert in Sweden last night, we have decided to hold off on releasing our concert trailer until tomorrow," they said.
