A 23-year-old woman in England has been arrested after a 2-year-old boy fell from the window of a second-floor apartment.

Police were called to Aadams Apartments in Frog Island, Leicester, Saturday afternoon and found the child, whose name was not disclosed, being attended to by the East Midlands Ambulance Service, according to a statement from Leicestershire Police.

The boy was brought to the hospital with non-life-threatening and non-life-changing injuries, police said.

A Leicester woman was arrested on suspicion of neglect in connection with the toddler's fall.

The woman, whose name and connection to the child were not disclosed, remains in police custody as officers continue their investigation to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

Leicestershire police are appealing to the public for any information related to the case.

“We have been speaking with a number of people following the incident as we continue to establish the full circumstances regarding what has happened,” Detective Inspector Mike Chandler said.

He continued, “If you were in the area this afternoon, please think back to anything you saw which could help our inquiries. If you have any information, please make contact with us.”

The incident comes not long after a 1-year-old girl fell from a second-floor window in the town of Ringwood in Hampshire, England, Thursday.

Police were called to an address in Christchurch Road, Ringwood, Thursday afternoon on a report that a baby girl had fallen two floors, Daily Echo reported, a Hampshire Police spokesperson.

The child suffered minor injuries and has since been discharged from the hospital, the spokesperson added.

Police are now conducting inquiries to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

It was not clear who was looking after the child at the time of the incident and whether arrests have been made in connection with the fall.
