Police officers shot dead four pet dogs after they viciously bit their owner. The incident took place in Plymouth, Connecticut, on Monday.

A woman was gravely injured and was considered to be in a critical condition after four of her own pet French mastiff dogs bit her. The officers responded to a 911 call at around 2.30 p.m. EDT, Monday. According to the police officers, the dogs were speculated to be around a hundred pounds and a few years old. The police officers did not reveal the identity of the woman.

The victim’s unnamed niece informed that her aunt had a total of six dogs. Two of them had stayed inside while the other four mauled the woman in the backyard. She said all four of the dogs were found attacking the victim when the police came and shot them. The police officers said the woman was sent to a hospital for treatment and the dogs were “contained” to secure the area.

In a similar incident last month in Idaho, a pit bull attacked a girl while she was playing at her aunt’s home. The girl was later rushed to a hospital by a medical helicopter as she sustained severe injuries to her leg. The victim, identified as Nevaeh Lynne Goedhart, was bitten by a pit bull while she was playing. She underwent two surgeries. The pit bull was later put down.
