Prince William and Kate Middleton's romance has stood the test of time.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's relationship is not perfect, but it works. Here are some love lessons that you will learn from Prince William and Middleton.

Give each other space

Middleton and Prince William broke up in 2007 because they knew that they had to figure some things out individually. They let go of each other but confessed that it was not easy.

"I think I at the time wasn't very happy about it, but actually it made me a stronger person," Middleton said. "You find out things about yourself that maybe you hadn't realised. Or I think you can get quite consumed by a relationship when you are younger."

Make time for one another

Prince William and Middleton make sure that they still have time together even if they already have three children. From time to time they step out together for a date. The two were last seen together giggling while watching the men's finals in Wimbledon.

Appreciate your partner

The couple lived together in a dorm when they were still in college. During their engagement interview, Middleton asked her husband-to-be how her cooking skill was.

"You liked my cooking?" Middleton asked. "Well, your cooking was alright. It's got better," the prince answered.

Support each other's passion

Prince William is a self-confessed fan of Aston Villa. Middleton revealed that 3-year-old Princess Charlotte and 5-year-old Prince George love the same team, too.

Middleton revealed this to student Bryan Mulonbi who is not fond of the team. "I told her I am an Arsenal fan, so I don't really like Villa kits," Mulonbi said.

"I have to be loyal to my husband!" the Duchess of Cambridge said.

It's okay to be playful

Just like any ordinary couple, the royals show each other's naughty side, too. Prince William revealed that he and Middleton share his humor which makes their relationship work.

"She's got a really naughty sense of humour which really helps me because I've got a really dirty sense of humour so it was good fun, we had a really good laugh, and then things happened," Prince William said.
