A woman in Texas, who was returning home from work, was shot multiple times Tuesday as she pulled into her driveway, killing her on the spot.

The 31-year-old woman, identified as Valeesha Duncan, was returning from the Galleria-area gentlemen’s club, where she worked, when she was ambushed and killed. The incident took place in west Harris County just before 6 a.m., Click 2 Houston reported.

Major Susan Cotter, with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, said, "The only information we have is a dark color vehicle pulled up, [someone] got out and shot approximately 50 rounds at her. She pulled into the garage, she was able to exit the vehicle, and she was found deceased in the garage."

The officer confirmed the victim lived at the home where the shooting took place, but said she wasn’t sure if anyone else lived with her.

Meanwhile, neighbors told local media they heard multiple gunshots. Giana Delaney, one of the neighbors, told KHOU she was awake when the shooting happened.

"It was fast, I was shaking. I was scared, scared. I didn’t want to look out the window, because I didn’t know if they were going to come back and do it again," she told the outlet.

Another neighbor, Bonnie, said, "It was just really fast. It sounded like a machine gun to me."

Timothy, the victim’s ex-partner, who gathered near her home to pay his respects, called her his best friend.

“We have a child together, and I’m the ex, so that goes to show you if I can say these positive things and for us to still be friends that shows you a lot about her character," Timothy said, adding their 11-year-old son was not at home when the incident took place.

"She was a good person, very sweet, very kind. Something like this is crazy," Timothy added.

Major Cotter said they were trying to determine if the woman was even the intended target. They are currently checking the CCTV footage and were yet to make an arrest in connection with the incident.

Anyone with any information was requested to call HCSO at (713) 274-9100 or Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
