Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley will be apart for some time due to their careers, but the athelete thinks they will benefit from this.

The 37-year-old athlete is gearing up for another season and will be away from his Los-Angeles based fiancée. However, the Green Bay Packers quarterback believes that being away from each other will be "a good thing" for both of them.

"It’s a busy work time for her, so [my decision] probably came at a good time for both of us to be able to focus on our work," he told Haute Living in an interview published Thursday.

"I think it’s going to be a good thing. I mean, her work was shut down for an entire year [during the coronavirus pandemic], and she’s booked a number of projects. She enjoys working and her own routine, which I obviously enjoy, too."

Woodley and Rodgers' career is probably the reason both are "in no rush" to plan for their wedding. In her interview with Entertainment Tonight in July, she told the outlet that they were "enjoying" their time together.

In March, the NFL star also spoke about his engagement to "The Mauritanian" star during an Instagram Live chat with Zenith Watches CEO Julien Tornare. Rodgers is the brand's North American ambassador. At the time, he said he was enjoying their engagement.

"I'm recently engaged, so been enjoying that part of my life," he was quoted by People as saying. "Obviously that's the best thing that's happened to me in the last year."

Rodgers announced his engagement to Woodley in February when he accepted the Most Valuable Player award during the NFL Honors. At the time, he didn't mention the name of the woman he proposed to. However, there were already rumors that it was Woodley as she was the last person he was romantically linked to.

The "Divergent" star confirmed their engagement in the same month when she appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." She admitted that they have been engaged "for a while."

"For us, it's not new news, you know?" Woodley said during the interview. "So it's kind of funny. Everybody right now is freaking out over it and we're like, 'Yeah, we've been engaged for a while."
