  • The NFL star reportedly is now able to focus more on a relationship

Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley have ended their relationship, but that doesn't mean they are closing the door on reconciliation, a report says.

After news broke earlier this month that Rodgers and Woodley had called it quits, the pair sparked speculation that they may get back together after the Green Bay Packers quarterback posted a sweet Instagram tribute in which he said he still loves the "Divergent" star.

The exes were also spotted together at Erewhon Market in Los Angeles Tuesday, further fueling the reconciliation rumors.

An unnamed insider told Us Weekly that while the two are no longer together, they are open to the idea of rekindling their romance.

"Things are different now, but they were definitely over," the source said. "Now that Aaron is in [the] off season, he has more downtime and can focus more on a relationship. Shailene is understanding and open — she hasn't shut the door completely or [she] would've never agreed to meet up with him."

According to the source, the 30-year-old "Big Little Lies" actress and the 38-year-old NFL star are "talking things through and trying to keep things private," but even though they chose to call off their engagement, "their love for each other never went away."

Although the former couple is open to the idea of reconciliation, "no one," including Rodgers and Woodley, "knows what the future holds," the insider said.

"They can possibly get back together or they can decide they aren't meant to be," the source continued. "That's up to them to figure out."

Rodgers and Woodley were first linked in July 2020. They confirmed their engagement in February last year, but multiple outlets, including People, reported last week that the two have gone their separate ways.

An unnamed source told the outlet that the breakup was "amicable" and that they chose to end their relationship because "it just wasn't working."

"They're very different people with busy careers and there were obstacles that they couldn't surmount. They will remain friendly; there's no bad blood and no drama. It just didn't work out for them," the insider explained.

Shortly after news of the split broke, the "Fault In Our Stars" actress was spotted shopping in Malibu, California, sans her engagement ring. This had some fans thinking it was confirmation that she and Rodgers had indeed parted ways.

However, days after Woodley's sighting, the football player took to Instagram to express his appreciation for his friends and loved ones, including the actress.

Rodgers shared several photos of those closest to him, including a snap of himself cuddled up to Woodley.

"@shailenewoodley, thanks for letting me chase after you the first couple months after we met and finally letting me catch up to you and be a part of your life," he wrote in the caption.

He added of Woodley: "Thanks for always having my back, for the incredible kindness you show me and everyone you meet and for showing me what unconditional love looks like. I love you and am grateful for you."
