A 2009 Cosmopolitan interview of Adam Levine has resurfaced amid reports of his cheating scandal with Instagram model Sumner Stroh. In the interview, Levine made it clear he does not believe that men were designed to stay monogamous.

"Instinctively, monogamy is not in our genetic makeup," Levine said in the interview. "People cheat. I have cheated. And you know what? There is nothing worse than the feeling of doing it," he added.

The old interview resurfaced days after Stroh claimed in a TikTok video that she had a year-long affair with Levine. The video showed screenshots of the rocker's alleged conversations with Stroh, where he told the model she's "50 times hotter in person."

Stroh said after their year-long affair, she stopped talking to Levine. However, the singer tried to rekindle their affair months later by sending her a message, telling her he was having a son and he wanted to name him after her.

Levine, who has been married to Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo since 2014, vehemently denied physically cheating on his wife with Stroh but admitted he had "crossed the line" at some point.

In an Instagram Story, Levine addressed the scandal and did not deny sending "inappropriate" messages to random women.

"A lot is being said about me right now and I want to clear the air. I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life," he wrote.

He also said his family is all he cares about in the world and he had already taken steps to mend things with his wife. "To be this naïve and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again," he said.

Since the confession, a number of women have come forward to claim that Levine had also flirted with them on social media.

Meanwhile, Prinsloo has kept mum about her husband's cheating. However, a source told E! that while she was shocked and upset by Levine's behavior, the 34-year-old believes that her husband did not have a physical affair with Stroh.
